The qualification is designed to develop the knowledge and skills required when working with children and young people from birth to 19 years of age.
It is relevant to a wide range of job roles in early years and social care settings and is suitable for learners who are working or want to work at a supervisory level in the Children and Young People’s Workforce.
The qualification is suitable for learners of 16 years of age and above.
There are no specific entry requirements however a good working knowledge of literacy and numeracy is required.
Learners must be working, volunteering or on a placement in a suitable workplace as the qualification requires the assessment of knowledge and competence.
Successful learners can progress to other higher qualifications such as TQUK Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (RQF) or to a Foundation Degree in a relevant subject.
